Parkum GmbH
About us
Parkum was founded by Michael Treutler, a digital audiobook pioneer with 20 years of experience in the international audio and publishing world, who has played a key role in shaping the market development of the "audio boom". Audible founder Don Katz described him as a visionary with the ability to "hear the future" and combine creative flair with strategic, entrepreneurial foresight - always with his ear close to the audience.
Parkum was launched in February 2025 and is currently working on multilingual audio and eBook publications of the complete works of Michael Ende and Sebastian Fitzek as well as international editions of other renowned authors such as Andreas Englisch. The partners include bestselling author Sebastian Fitzek, literary agent Roman Hocke, artist manager Manuela Raschke and audio book and radio play producer Kai Schenker. We believe in the power of the human voice and therefore work with the best voice actors in their respective countries.
The name "Parkum" comes from Sebastian Fitzek's first novel The Therapy - a fictional North Sea island to which one retreats in order to rethink. That's exactly what we're doing: we're building a fundamentally international publishing house that offers artists a partner that is boundless, bold and full of possibilities to attract global audiences and readers.
Every title in our program has the potential to change the perspective of its listeners - be it through the unexpected twists and turns of Sebastian Fitzek, the fantastic worlds of Michael Ende, the insider insights of Andreas Englisch, our selected program of individual titles or through original productions that we develop especially for Parkum.
